TinyTIM Bluetooth Wireless Smart Sensor Module

A Complete Solution
Turn your analog sensor into an IEEE-1451 Wireless Smart Sensor with Smart Sensor Systems’ TinyTIM Bluetooth Wireless Smart Sensor Module - a complete solution.
TinyTIM provides a broad variety of analog interfaces to allow connection of many types of sensors with minimal signal conditioning. A rear panel 37-pin connector makes these interfaces readily available to your sensor.
TinyTIM is provided with applications to help you 1) customize the data characteristics of your sensor and 2) for acquiring sensor data on a PC.

Bluetooth Sensor Development Kit
Smart Sensor Systems’ Bluetooth Sensor Development Kit provides the hardware and software needed to integrate your transducer (sensor or actuator) into a Bluetooth wireless sensor network that complies with the IEEE 1451 standard. In the nomenclature of IEEE 1451, the transducer is known as the Transducer Interface Module (TIM) while the sensor network controller is known as the Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP).
Using a Bluetooth Sensor Development Kit, you can develop a wireless, IEEE 1451-compliant TIM that uses your sensor or actuator hardware. Your TIM will benefit from the many features of IEEE 1451 like Plug & Play, automatic sensor error correction, ease of sensor network installation, and simplified sensor replacement to name a few.
Furthermore, you’ll be able to wirelessly connect up to seven Bluetooth TIMs to a single NCAP at distances up to 30 meters.

NCAP - Network Capable Application Processor
Virtual NCAP 1.0
Smart Sensor Systems announces the introduction of Virtual NCAP 1.0. This software product supports a full IEEE-1451.0 Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) functionality on any PC running Windows XP. This software allows software developers running Microsoft Visual Studio or National Instruments’ LabVIEW, control and access to smart sensors that implement the IEEE-1451 standards. In addition to controlling smart sensors, the Virtual NCAP will include a sensor explorer application that will automatically discover sensors, show characteristics of each sensor and allow simple control and reading of the sensors without programming. The product also includes a web server interface that will present sensor data over a network (Windows XP Professional required).
Note that the IEEE-1451.0 and 1451.5 standards are currently awaiting balloting and approval from the IEEE. Therefore, all copies of this product will be considered beta evaluation code. When the standards are approved, all purchasers will automatically receive an update to the production version.
Further details on the IEEE-1451 family of standards are available on our website at What does IEEE 1451 do?
